Frequently asked questions
Can I buy Silver or Gold directly?
No. You cannot self-attest or buy Silver or Gold as a self-serve upgrade. They are earned outcomes reviewed under the applicable Legacy Core credential standard.
Do I need Bronze first?
Yes. Bronze is the baseline readiness credential. Silver and Gold build on a live Bronze listing.
What evidence is required?
Higher credential tiers may require evidence demonstrating implemented cybersecurity practices and continued readiness. Exact requirements vary by credential tier and business environment. See the Evidence page for the public categories.
Do I have to hire an Alliance Partner to earn Silver or Gold?
No. Legacy Core does not require businesses to purchase implementation services or a specific security product to earn a credential. You may work with an Alliance Partner or another qualified provider. Buying that work does not issue the badge. Legacy Core determines whether the credential has been earned.
