What is a Legacy Core Trust Credential?

A Trust Credential is issued after a business completes the applicable Legacy Core credentialing pathway and maintains active credential status. It includes a Trust Badge and a public registry record.

Can someone verify a credential without calling the business?

Yes. Anyone can search the Public Business Trust Registry by business name or credential ID and see Verified, Expired, or Not Found.

How do I get credentialed?

Start with the free Trust Audit if you want to see where you stand. That diagnostic does not issue a badge. A Trust Credential is issued only after the credentialing pathway and Legacy Core review. Silver and Gold require documented evidence and cannot be self-declared.

Do I have to buy cybersecurity services to get credentialed?

No. Legacy Core does not require businesses to purchase cybersecurity implementation services or a specific security product to earn a credential. You may work with qualified providers of your choice. Legacy Core determines whether the credential requirements have been met.

May help implement controls and submit evidence-backed attestations. They do not issue Trust Badges. Partner attestation is not independent review.

May evaluate evidence within their competence when Legacy Core appoints them for that scope. Appointment is not automatic, and those relationships are being established.

Legacy Core
Owns the credential standard, reviews submitted evidence against published requirements, and decides whether to issue, decline, or later change a credential.

Public verification checks credential status and the recorded assessment scope. It does not prove a business is currently free of security weaknesses.
